You may get an Attument from Me, but Reiki is the true Teacher …

I always teach students in my Reiki workshops that Reiki will lead and guide them along their paths if they open themselves up to receiving Reiki guidance.  I am a Reiki Teacher, yet the fuller truth is Reiki itself is the Teacher.  I am a vessel that the Reiki energy and information goes through. Just as the Reiki practitioner is a channel for the healing energy to move through.

In each Reiki workshop I am guided on how to best convey the Reiki teachings to the individuals in the class.  I teach the same things in each workshop, yet the way things are worded or how I have the student practice may be slightly different.

Once I’ve attuned students to Reiki my goal is to have them reach a place of confidence, trust and reliance on the Reiki.  My aim is to have the new Reiki practitioner leave the Reiki workshop empowered and dedicated to using Reiki in their lives daily.  I encourage them to integrate the Reiki into what ever  practices they are already using in their lives such as: yoga, massage, meditation, modern medicine, therapy, dance, career, parenting or play.

How do I foster my student’s confidence in using Reiki?

1. I allow for plenty of practice time using Reiki.  Reiki energy is unseen by most.  Therefore, giving and receiving Reiki during class allows for the student to develop a relationship with the Reiki.  How it feels when it flows through them.  How the Reiki cycles, ebbs and flows.  What it feels like to receive Reiki.

2. I encourage the person receiving Reiki and for the giver of Reiki to share what they notice when Reiki is being given.  This helps the new Reiki practitioners trust in the unseen effects of the Reiki.  When someone first learns Reiki it’s so important to have feedback, so they know they aren’t making things up in their head.

For example, the Reiki student feels that the receiver of Reiki needs Reiki at the hips and goes there first.  The acknowledgement of the person on the table that they’ve had hip problems bolsters the confidence of the new Reiki practitioner.

3. I have the students practice various techniques during the Reiki II class to show powerful ways Reiki can be used.

4. All the while during a Reiki Class, I’m asking my students to tap into and trust their intuition, because the Reiki will guide the Reiki practitioner.  It’s very important for people to trust their guidance.  Watching people feel with their hands and go where the Reiki sends them the messages.  Sometimes the Reiki’s direction is tingling hands, sometimes inner knowing, or an inner voice, a picture in the mind or a feeling in the body.

The only thing that puts any limits on the use of Reiki is a lack of creativity.  I encourage the students to tap into their creative source and to be open to how Reiki can be used to promote healing and energetic wellbeing in their lives.

My hope is that once leaving class that the Reiki practitioners go from hearing my voice in their heads when they use Reiki to hearing the voice and inner promptings of the Reiki.  Reiki attunements open the third eye and heart chakras allowing for a deepening of intuition.

Not only will the Reiki guide You in how, when and where use Reiki.  Reiki will guide You on your path to self-awareness.  Reiki will put creative ideas for how to use Reiki that suit You or people You know.  You just need to be open and allow yourself to trust the Reiki guidance.

You’re not making it up.  The Reiki guidance is real even if it’s unseen.   That’s part of the benefit of being with others when You learn.  It’s so easy to see how strong your intuition is using Reiki, when You have feedback from others in your Reiki workshop confirming what You are sensing.

It’s amazing to hear about ways that Reiki has guided students when they come back for Reiki II, Reiki III.  Not only will Reiki guide You in your healing process and how to best help other’s in their healing, it will guide You in your path of self-discovery and persoanl awareness.

I’m with You when You learn Reiki, yet the Reiki is with You a life time.  Your connection with Reiki can never be broken.  Keep trusting and following your guidance.

7 Reasons for Reiki Students to continue going to Reiki Circles and Shares:

.

There are advantages to learning Reiki in person.

7 Reasons for Reiki Students to continue going to Reiki Circles and Shares:The Reiki Muse

1. You have the opportunity to connect with other students.

Spirit has an amazing ability to bring together students in a Reiki Circle for the mutual benefit of all concerned.  For example, it might bring together students working on the same life lessons such as self-worth.  The class may bring together a couple of students adept at seeing energy with a couple who are better at feeling it.  Everyone gets the benefit of the other’s experience.

You also can get to know each other further at Reiki shares.  You become part of a Reiki community with people who share your interest in energy healing.

2.  You and your Reiki Master Teacher have the chance to get to know each other.

During a live Reiki workshop and Reiki Share there is plenty of opportunity for sharing.  The Reiki Teacher shares experiences that can help You in using this healing energy system.   The teachings can also be taught in a way that most suits the learner.

3. Live feedback from your Reiki Teacher and other Reiki Students.

Instant feedback  helps You master the application of Reiki techniques and fosters trust in your intuition while using the healing energy.  For example, You can find out if the pressure of your hand or  positioning of your hand needs to be adjusted for the comfort of the receiver.  Or You may find that the Reiki felt strongest over a certain part of the body and that’s where the person on the Reiki table had been experiencing pain before the class.

4. The opportunity to fully immerse yourself in practicing Reiki.

In a workshop and Reiki Share setting You’ve scheduled yourself to be there.  You have uninterrupted time and space to bask in the Reiki energy.  With the guidance of a teacher you’re likely to integrate the Reiki energy on a deeper level than if You are by yourself.  Kind of like going to a yoga class versus practicing at home, I know I get way more out of it if I attend a class.

5. Develop confidence in your Reiki ability.

By the time you’ve left your Reiki workshop/share you’ve had plenty experience using the Reiki.  You’ve had feedback from the Reiki Master Teacher and fellow students.  By the time you go home you’ve already started the process of trusting Reiki and your intuition using the Reiki.  You’ve felt the Reiki’s effect on yourself and others and you know that the Reiki is working for everyone’s highest good.  The more You use it the stronger it gets and so does your confidence in the healing strength of the energy.

6. The advantage of practicing giving Reiki sessions to others.

You’ve already given at least one full session during the workshop but you also get to come back and share your Reiki with others.  So when you are on your own the people you work on will feel comfortable receiving a treatment from You.  And You’ll feel at ease working on others too.  If you’re planning on offering Reiki services, I highly recommend you’ve had plenty of practice sessions.

7. Experience being supported while integrating the Reiki energy.  Other’s can be your witness in your emotions or your realizations.

Reiki has a way of clearing out our energetic systems.  This release of energy often brings up old patterning and emotions.  It’s so powerful to acknowledge your moving experience in the presence of others.  We are able to support and honor each other during the Reiki Share with the loving Reiki energy.

Give yourself the gift of learning Reiki in an in-person workshop.  When you’re ready to learn Reiki or take the next level of Reiki, find a Reiki Master Teacher that You feel suits You.   If You’re in Los Angeles, You can find my class list on \http://www.meetup.com/DTLA-Healing-HeARTS/

Instant Healing … SERIOUSLY?!?

We want fast food, speedy customer service, instant messaging and expedited payments. And yet, there is something about the familiar that wants us to stay connected to Freud’s old paradigm that healing, forgiveness and letting go of old “stuff”  is an arduous task that will take years. So, when I declare I offer a newer type of Healing modality or Holistic Life coaching that allows people to achieve more of what they want … faster … some folks get skeptical. And, that is exactly what happens while being out and meeting people when I tell them what I do for a living … I get that look – that … “really”?  look.

And, when I share what I do for a living with other conventional therapist, …you would think that I I’d grown a third eye or long nose in that brief moment.

The traditional therapeutic community doesn’t believe in the notion of instant healing and making change easier. The field of psychology is slow to adopt the notion that we can heal, grow, and evolve more quickly with newer healing therapies. Again, it’s interesting to me, because we love the whole premise of FAST in our culture. I wonder why it doesn’t apply to the healing community. Instead, we want painstaking self-awareness to carry all the water for change. I’m here to tell you that self-awareness is healing … but it’s not always enough to create sustainable change.

I have to admit I was reluctant to advocate myself as a Reiki Master, Healer or Life Coach until a year ago. At the time, I was acutely aware of my own themes in life. I had already come to terms with my lifetime of quick, ungraceful exits. I knew every relationship I left in the past was an attempt to avoid some inevitable disappointment that was outside my conscious awareness. I understood that abandoning relatioships was an inexcusable attempt to save them from myself. I had come to grips with the cruelness of leaving great loves while the houselights were down during intermission. But the awareness alone wasn’t enough to change the feeling I still held in my body that I didn’t deserve happiness or have a healthy relationship.

I can still remember when I released “undeserving” from my body. I wish I could declare it unfolded in the solitude of an Ashram, but the recollection of the center’s carpet with its corporate blue carpet, and uncomfortable seminar seats reminds me otherwise. I was in a crowded conference room attending a training session for one of the healing modalities I use today in my practice. I know – lacking cinematic quality, huh? But alas, the irony of the location confirms that you don’t have to be in India to change the course of your life.

In a period of 15 minutes, I untethered from that old belief, captured my lessons, and experienced a sense of self-forgiveness that is still incredibly humbling. I felt lighter, at peace and knew immediately I wanted to offer this gift to others. More important, I want to release all the other beliefs that weren’t serving me. With each belief I released, I was invited to show up differently in the world.

And yet, I know it can be easy to scoff at the notion that we can resolve negative emotions, release old beliefs, and take a quick ride to instant healing if you haven’t experienced it first-hand. But I have my own experiences that allow me to be unapologetic for not conforming to the framework of the larger healing community. For every person who does not believe or understand what I do, there are others who are deeply curious and courageously ready to benefit from what I do for a living. My job is not to convince anyone, but to meet people where they are and be available for their healing with Reiki, and Holistic Life Coaching.  Are you ready? … Make an Appointment 213-304-3941

Learn Reiki

In it’s purest form Reiki is simple, fun and easy to Learn …

In its purest form, Reiki recognizes the sacredness and interconnectedness of ones true self and all of life, thus awakening one’s true potential. It will change anything that needs to be changed within the physical and etheric organism, as long as these changes are aligned with the soul’s highest good. Since we are all connected to each other, we have an effect on all those with whom we come in contact. This is especially so when we consciously connect with another transmitting Reiki. Reiki passes from the practitioner to the receiver, working on many levels. It brings all aspects of the receiver’s beingTaproot Healing Institute - Meditation into harmonious balance, according to their individual intention. You can use Reiki to help yourself, and others, to achieve a deeper sense of well-being while aspiring to achieve enlightenment.

The concept of healing is to make whole and that is what we do with Reiki; we work toward becoming whole. To become whole we need to integrate the different aspects of ourselves to get them to work together to help “the whole” function for its highest benefit. So when we discuss the benefits of Reiki and we state that it is good for this or good for that, this is going to depend upon one major factor, you. What is it that you need to make you more whole? Your needs are unique and therefore the benefits that you will receive from working with Reiki will also be unique.

Our mind and body knows how to heal itself. Yes, you are born with the natural ability to heal yourself! As the Reiki energy in your body moves and cleanses, it supports your natural healing ability. The system of Reiki supports that innate healing process. One of the most fundamental concepts of healing is that our bodies draw on Reiki to balance the flow of subtle energies by releasing blockages and suppressed feelings. Reiki does NOT diagnose, all you need to know is that whatever is receiving the Reiki will draw on, or release the energy as needed. If the rational mind gets in the way by diagnosing, you limit the healing possibilities of spiritual energy.

Reiki is guided by the God-consciousness, it can never do harm. Reiki knows what a person needs and will adjust to create the appropriate effect. Your body decides what it needs and when. For this reason, no two Reiki experiences are alike. Therefore, when you work with Reiki you do not know what is going to happen. Accept this and allow the energy to support your natural healing process. The benefits will become apparent. Your body will decide what it needs to become whole. Because the practitioner is not doing the healing, it is also much easier for the ego to stay out of the way and allow the presence of God to shine clearly through.

Because it is a channeled healing, the Reiki practitioner’s energies are never depleted. In fact, the Reiki consciousness considers both practitioner and client to be in need of healing, so both receive treatment. Because of this, giving a treatment always increases one’s energy and leaves one surrounded with loving feelings of well-being. Below are listed some of the possible benefits of Reiki to give you an idea as to how the energy can affect your life.

About your chakras

Chakras for Beginners

Christina Galvez … “Learn to live a life on Hi-Frequency, Purpose and Happiness!”

Chakras are energy vortex centers that run from the base of your spine out the top, or crown, of your head. The word chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel, vortex or disc. There are seven major chakras, each a circular wheel of light spinning in your energetic system, associated with the seven major glands in our body. By learning to tune into the energy of your chakras, you can begin to embrace the fullness of who you truly are and most importantly gain total control of your Emotional/Mental, Physical and Spiritual Health. Learn how to tap into the healing potential, balance and activate your chakras.

1. Root Chakra is Red
This deep red chakra grounds and connects us to the earth. When our root chakra is open, we feel a sense of belonging. We deserve to be here and to be happy. This chakra focuses on our needs. Basic needs like food, shelter, and water are necessary in order for this chakra to feel balanced. Beyond that, we can use food (both “real” food and all of the things that feed us that don’t come on our plate) in our lives to help us feel more present in our bodies.  Body Part(s): Adrenal Glands, associated with survival (fight or flight) instincts.

2. Sacral Chakra is Orange
This calming orange wheel goes round in our lower abdomen, right below the navel. This chakra is associated with health, pleasure, feelings, and sexuality. When the sacral chakra is balanced, we feel abundant, we know that we are deserving of pleasure in all areas of our lives. It is this chakra that helps us feel free to let our emotions flow through our lives, taking them as they come and knowing that they will pass, knowing that just as emotions are fluid, so is life. When we are able to find ways to accept and express our emotions, then we are able to keep our emotional, as well as physical, bodies healthy. Body Part(s): Testicles, Ovaries, in charge of sexual development.

3.Solar Plexus, Chakra is yellow

This bright yellow ball of fire heats up our personal sense of power. Located at the solar plexus, this chakra helps to center us. It is our power center where we develop our autonomy and sense of self. When this chakra is open, we feel worthy of all that life has to offer us. We realize the power we possess to create the life of our dreams is already alive inside of us. When we harness the energy of the solar plexus chakra, we find the strength to conquer our dreams and goals. Body Part(s): Pancreas, controls digestion.

4. Heart Chakra is Green
Our heart center creates balance in our lives. When we move into our heart chakra, we feel love and compassion toward ourselves. Once we have learned to be kind to ourselves, then we are able to extend that kindness to others. The heart chakra allows us to live our lives from an understanding, considerate, and peaceful place. It connects us to others, our surroundings, and the universe. When we tap into our heart chakra, love radiates around us and out into the world.  Body Part(s): Thymus, helps build immune system.

5. Throat Chakra is blue
The blue of this energy center spins its truth in our throat, helping us to be authentic in the way we live our lives. The throat chakra is where we communicate, where we are able to openly share our life perspective. Part of speaking truthfully involves carefully considering our words and the effect they will have once they have been spoken, causing us to consciously choose what we say to others. This, however, does not mean that we bottle our words up inside. It means that we try to look at all perspectives and find a respectful way to present our voice. Be clear, ask for what you want. Body Part(s): Thyroid, controls metabolism.

6. Third Eye Chakra is Indigo
The light of this chakra makes its mark on our forehead, between the eyebrows and slightly above dark blue with violet and sparkling lights. This is where we see, where our inner eye lives. When we have an important decision to make or are feeling uncertain in our lives, it helps to focus on the third eye and to seek guidance. Everything we need to know is inside of us. Each one of us has all of the answers to all of the questions that we ask. What we need to do is slow down, take some time out, listen and trust in our own wisdow. The 6th chakra is also represents the sixth sense hence the third eye. Body Part(s): Pituitary Gland, influences growth and hormones.

7. Crown Chakra is Violet
Bright white light glows at the top of our head, radiating upward, reaching its rays out into the world beyond us. When we are grounded in our bodies, we are able to accept the ever-changing world that moves around us. Once we have accepted that change, we can work on building a strong sense of self, knowing that we deserve to fulfill our dreams. Having learned to love ourselves, we can then let that love move beyond the boundaries of our self and enter into our interactions with others. When we know how to love ourselves and others, then we are able to speak our truth from a place of integrity and respect for all involved in the conversation. When we are able to openly be honest, we can then go inside and listen quietly to our inner voice, which guides us. Going inside, we discover that though it often seems we are alone in this journey of life, we are really connected to everything. The white light radiates out from our crown and blends into the rest of the light that flows from all other beings. We are all one. This chakra is also known as the thousand petal lotus. Body Part(s): Pineal Gland, regulates natural body rhythms.

Now that you have a better idea of each chakra’s role in energy exchange between your body and the world around you, it is important to realize that balancing your chakra will help resolve physical, emotional and spiritual issues. Once all of your chakra are in balance your entire body will begin to resonate and give off slightly higher frequencies than before. This is often felt as a state of relief. It is only after the issues have reappeared several times that you will be able to appreciate them from several points of view, and therefore be empowered to deal with them more effectively and hollistically. From then on, the world is your oyster!

It has been fiercely debated in the scientific community over many years whether or not living cells store records of their lives as a type of biological memory. If we accept that such a memory exists, then it is possible that a record of our health is constantly being recorded on to that memory. The memory would therefore be passed down from generation to generation, making the energies your children emit a direct result of those you have come to emit. This means the human race has a chance to evolve emotionally as well as spiritually.

Please watch this 10 minute chakra balancing video first and then follow the exercise.

How the 7 major chakras affect your mind, body and spirit.

A constant balance between the chakras promotes health and a sense of well being.  Meditation, affirmations, yoga, and Reiki are all perfect practices to maintain good energy balance, promote health and bring about peace.

If the chakras are not balanced, or if the energies are blocked, the basic life force will be slowed down. The individual may feel listless, tired, out of sorts, or depressed. Not only will physical bodily functions be affected so diseases may manifest, but the thought processes and the mind may also be affected. A negative attitude, fear, doubt, etc. may preoccupy the individual.

Most of us react to unpleasant experiences by blocking our feeling and stopping a great deal of our natural energy flow. This affects the maturation and development of the chakras. Whenever a person blocks whatever experience he is having, he in turn blocks his chakras, which eventually become disfigured. When the chakras/and the glands they reciprocate with are functioning normally, each will be open, spinning clockwise to metabolize the particular energies needed from the universal energy field.

  1. First Chakra – Root
Studying the individual chakras begins with the root chakra, called Muladhara in Sanskrit. The root chakra is located at the base of the spine at the tailbone in back, and the pubic bone in front. This center holds the basic needs for survival, security and safety. The root chakra is powerfully related to our contact with the Earth Mother, providing us with the ability to be grounded into the earth plane. This is also the center of manifestation. When you are trying to make things happen in the material world, business or material possessions, the energy to succeed will come from the first chakra. If this chakra is blocked an individual may feel fearful, anxious, insecure and frustrated. Problems like obesity, anorexia nervosa, and knee troubles can occur. Root body parts include the hips, legs, lower back and sexual organs.
  2. Second Chakra – Sacral
The next chakra or second chakra is often referred to as the belly or (sacral). It is located two inches below the navel and is rooted into the spine. This center holds the basic needs for sexuality, creativity, intuition, and self-worth. This chakra is also about friendliness, creativity, and emotions. It governs peoples sense of self-worth, their confidence in their own creativity, and their ability to relate to others in an open and friendly way. It¹s influenced by how emotions were expressed or repressed in the family during childhood. Proper balance in this chakra means the ability to flow with emotions freely and to feel and reach out to others sexually or not. If this chakra is blocked a person may feel emotionally explosive, manipulative, obsessed with thoughts of sex or may lack energy. Physical problems may include, kidney weakness, stiff lower back, constipation, and muscle spasms. Belly body parts include sexual organs (women), kidneys, bladder, and large intestine. The main color used with this chakra is orange.
  3. Third Chakra – Solar Plexus
The third chakra is referred to as the Solar Plexus. It is located two inches below the breastbone in the center behind the stomach. The third chakra is the center of personal power, the place of ego , of passions, impulses, anger and strength. It is also the center for astral travel and astral influences, receptivity of spirit guides and for psychic development. When the Third Chakra is out of balance you may lack confidence, be confused, worry about what others think, feel that others are controlling your life, and may be depressed. Physical problems may include digestive difficulties, liver problems, diabetes, nervous exhaustion, and food allergies. When balanced you may feel cheerful, outgoing, have self-respect, expressive, enjoy taking on new challenges, and have a strong sense of personal power. The body parts for this chakra include the stomach, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, and small intestine. The main color for this chakra is yellow.
  4. Fourth Chakra – Heart
The fourth chakra is referred to as the heart chakra. It is located behind the breast bone in front and on the spine between the shoulder blades in back. This is the center for love, compassion and spirituality. This center directs one¹s ability to love themselves and others, to give and to receive love. This is also the chakra connecting body and mind with spirit. Almost everyone today has a hard, hurt, or broken heart, and it is no accident that heart disease is the number one killer in America today. Deep heart hurts can result in aura obstructions called heart scars. When these scars are released, they raise a lot of old pain, but free the heart for healing and new growth. When this chakra is out of balance you may feel sorry for yourself, paranoid, indecisive, afraid of letting go, afraid of getting hurt, or unworthy of love. Physical illnesses include heart attack, high blood pressure, insomnia, and difficult in breathing. When this chakra is balanced you may feel compassionate, friendly, empathetic, desire to nurture others and see the good in everyone. Body parts for the fourth chakra include heart, lungs, circulatory system, shoulders, and upper back. The main colors used are pink and green.
  5. Fifth Chakra – Throat
The fifth chakra is referred to as the Throat. It is located in the V of the collarbone at the lower neck and is the center of communication, sound, and expression of creativity via thought , speech, and writing. The possibility for change, transformation and healing are located here. The throat is where anger is stored and finally let go of. When this chakra is out of balance you may want to hold back, feel timid, be quiet, feel weak, or can’t express your thoughts. Physical illnesses or ailments include, hyperthyroid, skin irritations, ear infections, sore throat, inflammations, and back pain. When this chakra is balanced you may feel balanced, centered, musically or artistically inspired, and may be a good speaker. Body parts for the fifth chakra are throat, neck, teeth, ears, and thyroid gland. The main color used is light blue.
  6. Sixth Chakra – Third Eye
The sixth chakra is referred to as the Third Eye. It is located above the physical eyes on the center of the forehead. This is the center for psychic ability, higher intuition, the energies of spirit and light. It also assists in the purification of negative tendencies and in the elimination of selfish attitudes. Through the power of the sixth chakra, you can receive guidance, channel, and tune into your Higher Self. When this chakra is not balanced you may feel non-assertive, afraid of success, or go the opposite way and be egotistical. Physical symptoms may include headaches, blurred vision, blindness, and eyestrain. When this chakra is balanced and open you are your own master with no fear of death, are not attached to material things, may experience telepathy, astral travel, and past lives. Sixth chakra body parts include the eyes, face, brain, lymphatic and endocrine system. The main colors are indigo and dark blue.
  7. Seventh Chakra – Crown
The seventh chakra is referred to as the Crown. It is located just behind the top of the skull. It is the center of spirituality, enlightenment, dynamic thought and energy. It allows for the inward flow of wisdom, and brings the gift of cosmic consciousness. This is also the center of connectedness with (God), the place where life animates the physical body. The silver cord that connects the aura bodies extends from the crown. The soul comes into the body through the crown at birth and leaves from the crown at death. When this chakra is unbalanced there may be a constant sense of frustration, no spark of joy, and destructive feelings. Illnesses may include migraine headaches and depression. Balanced energy in this chakra may include the ability to open up to the Divine and total access to the unconscious and subconscious. The main colors for the crown are white and violet.
